On Monday 16th March—18th March 2015 students from Horizons 6th form went on an outdoor education visit to Kingswood Activity Centre in Doncaster. It was a great chance for staff and students to get to know each other and build relationships in a different environment. Students had the opportunity to learn life skills, social skills and improve their independence skills. This visit also provided an increased knowledge of the location and surroundings.
The activities provided were challenging, exciting, fun and enjoyable. It helped them improve their gross and fine motor skills and increase physical fitness. Students worked together collaboratively and supported each other which increased their self-esteem and confidence. Students benefitted from the experience, both educationally and socially.
